The principle of choice is an important element in helping students develop as autonomous lifelong learners. With the introduction of the 20-credit module system in Session 2008-09, the University created a new range of modules – co-curricular modules. These credit-bearing modules form part of the option pool in undergraduate programmes of study. It is however important to note that co-curricular modules are not specific to a student’s discipline but are designed to strengthen employability skills and boost confidence as they relate to personal and professional development.
The development of co-curricular modules is dynamic and the range of modules will evolve in line with employability, education and social trends. These modules are diverse in subject but all offer knowledge and skills relevant to today’s working environment.
