The role of the financial function; impact of the economic environment on the financial management; the investment decision and risk; evaluation of alternative sources of long and short term financing; the cost of capital and asset valuation; treasury risk management
Learning Outcomes for module:

LO1: Discuss the purpose of the finance function and assess the impact of the external economic environment
LO2: Apply investment appraisal techniques in a range of situations including the analysis of risk
LO3: Identify and evaluate a range of long and short term sources of finance
LO4: Calculate the cost of capital and apply the principles of asset and business valuation
LO5: Explain the causes of foreign exchange risk and interest risk and apply techniques for managing the risks.
