Prerequisites

To study this module it is an NMC requirement that you have successfully completed practice modules 1-5 (or equivalent).


Description of module content:

The module will focus on the application in practice of professional values, communication and interpersonal skills, nursing practice and decision making, leadership, management and team work. This will be combined with promotion of “readiness to work” and “fitness to practice” issues in the period running up to entry onto the Register.

Learning Outcomes for module:

LO1: Demonstrate a level of nursing skill, knowledge and professionalism commensurate with a newly qualified RN
LO2: Demonstrate confident and autonomous working practices within the boundaries of the NMC (2008) Code.
LO3: Act promptly to ensure patient/ client safety and well being at all times.
LO4: Deliver highly developed compassionate, person/ family centred care which embeds the principles of holistic practice, commensurate with a newly qualified RN.
LO5: Liaise effectively with service users, colleagues and other disciplines to provide evidence based care management and leadership in care delivery for patients and client groups.
