Description of module content:

This practice module will be within adult health care services where you will work within The Code: Professional Standards of Practice and Behaviour (Nursing Midwifery Council 2015) demonstrating accountability and autonomy commensurate with registration. You will act in accordance with the duty of candour where appropriate. You will develop skills in clinical supervision and have knowledge of organisational values. You will have enhanced decision making skills and demonstrate the ability to teach others (individuals, families and colleagues/ professional/health and social care providers). You will provide compassionate person centred care commensurate with Registration applying effective communication strategies. You will have in depth knowledge of clinical governance, risk assessment and management, quality processes, service evaluation, service improvement and impact these have on service design and delivery. With increasing autonomy you will provide and evaluate care delivery applying patient safety policies and guidelines relevant to community/surgical/medical/medicine of the elderly care setting commensurate with Registration. During this module you will demonstrate clinical skills commensurate with entry to the Register. You will engage in the practice of infection control and complete associated theory (Cleanliness Champions Programme) and numeracy related to practice.
You will have knowledge of and be able to apply leadership styles to lead the healthcare team. You will demonstrate effective team working and skills and attributes commensurate with a Registrant to provide evidence based care ensuring patient safety in a compassionate person centred care.
