Description of module content:

Maintenance Managers are the hidden force behind successful organisations, not only keeping buildings running but driving strategy, managing risks, and adding value to businesses. They shape customer experiences, champion environmental sustainability, and integrate cutting-edge technology to create efficient and future-ready workplaces. In this module, you will tackle real world challenges such as: Strategic Decision-Making – How do you align facility operations with an organisation's goals? Repair strategies – What happens when a critical system fails? Value Creation – How can Maintenance Management be a value driver, not just a cost centre, deliver cost in use scenarios guaranteeing quality and longevity of system efficiencies and Customer Service Excellence? – Why do well-managed workplaces improve productivity and satisfaction? Sustainability & Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) – How can maintenance Management contribute to a greener, more ethical world? Management and efficient overseeing of renovations, expansions, or sustainability projects? Technology Integration –By the end of this module, you will recognise Maintenance Management as a powerful strategic function that shapes the future and health of an organisation.

Learning Outcomes for module:

Upon completion of this module you will be able to

LO1: Account for the nature and extent of maintenance operations and how to carry out condition surveys.

LO2: Define fiscal planning in maintenance management, including life cycle costing.

LO3: Outline a knowledge and understanding of the maintenance requirements of building services.

LO4: Develop an awareness of the property management process in terms of outright acquisition and demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of commercial and residential property leases management and disposal.
