Description of module content:

This module explores the technological principles underpinning the design and construction of multi-storey buildings. The module also investigates the close relationship between conceptual design and construction technologies, using exemplary contemporary buildings to demonstrate how design intent is realised through technical solutions.
Learning Outcomes for module:

Upon completion of this module you will be able to

LO1: Describe the necessary preparations for the safe construction and assembly of buildings.

LO2: Critically evaluate the relationship between conceptual architectural design and the technological solutions used to realise contemporary building projects.

LO3: Understand methods of construction for multi-storey buildings.

LO4: Research technical aspects of construction processes for the development of a building design.
