Description of module content:

Work Placement 2 (PT) shall comprise a minimum 10-week period of continuous satisfactory employment within a programme-related organisation during trimester 3 of stage 5. The work experience gained from the placement shall be recorded as a weekly diary. The diary entries shall document the work you have been engaged on and what you have learnt during the work placement. You will then create a case study based upon a particular project or aspect of your core surveying profession in order to demonstrate how your experience in the workplace has enhanced the knowledge that you have gained throughout your studies. You will also be required to carry out a strategic analysis of your employer?s activities and how your experience has contributed to the overall aims and objectives of the organisation?s long-term strategy.

Learning Log 30 1~2 Week 12 HOURS= 2500 Learning Log - This will comprise the weekly recording of experience gained in the workplace which must be evaluated and analysed in the context of your organisation’s overall corporate aims and objectives. This will comprise descriptions of the work tasks undertaken on a weekly basis for trimester 3 along with a commentary analysing how the activities contribute towards achieving your organisations business strategy. This diary is your opportunity to record your experience and provide evidence of your evaluation and analysis of the work-based practices of your employer’s organisation and will require to be signed-off by your employer to confirm that it is an accurate reflection of your work undertaken at the organisation.
Project - Written 70 3~4~5 Exam Period , WORDS= 7,500 words A case study may be seen as an in-depth, detailed examination of a complex issue in its real-life context.You are asked to present a case study based upon an aspect of the experience that you have gained during your period in the workplace whilst at university. The case study must be based upon your own experience and must be appropriate to your programme of study. The topic or topics must demonstrate how you have contributed to your organisations activities and how the activities have mapped with your programme of studies.
