Description of module content:

This practice module will provide an opportunity to build on knowledge and skills acquired throughout the programme and apply current research to all aspects of caring for children and young people in a range of diverse settings. Units 9 & 10 of the HAI package and NMC standards of proficiency relation to Care Delivery, Care Management, Professional and Ethical Practice, Personal and development will be completed in preparation for the transition to a registered Nurse (Child).

Learning Outcomes for module:

LO1: Demonstrate ongoing development through completion of clinical proficiencies and record of
achievement in a variety of diverse settings to include NES HAI Cleanliness Champions units 9 & 10.
LO2: Apply knowledge of an appropriate model of nursing care to accurately assess, plan, implement and
evaluate the physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual care of the child, young person and their
family.
LO3: Provide rationale for clinical decision making and problem solving in the provision of care for children
and families in diverse settings.
LO4: Document personal & professional development by building on the personal development portfolio which will include NMC standards of proficiency achieved to enhance employability skills.
