Description of module content:

This module is focused on planning, designing, delivering and evaluating career group guidance and coaching experiences. You will analyse theories, concepts and models of career learning and development and there will also be a focus building up the knowledge and skills to enable you to critically reflect on theories and models. You will be required to reflect on your own developing practice in the light of the conceptual literature. The topics will include-- Learning theory - concepts and practice- Applying models of group guidance and coaching to a range of contexts- Group coaching rationale and planning- Contracting, confidentiality and building group relationships- Group coaching skills and techniques- Group dynamics and session management- Reflecting and evaluating group coaching interventionsThis module is available during trimester 2 for full time on campus students or fully online (over 14 weeks) for part time students.

Learning Outcomes for module:

Upon completion of this module you will be able to

LO1: Critically evaluate concepts of career learning in a range of contexts.

LO2: Critically apply a range of skills to plan, design, deliver and evaluate a group coaching experience that is responsive to the needs of the target audience and maximises learning.

LO3: Critically reflect on your own developing practice in light of self-reflection, feedback and the conceptual literature.
