Description of module content:

The module discusses the applications and impact artificial intelligence is having on creative industries. It provides foundational knowledge on the latest methodologies, technologies, and tools available that are shaping the future of all digital creative practice. Combining theoretical understanding with practical applications, you will be able to understand the different AI technologies available, the creative tools and practice they influence, whilst also understanding the limitations and potential challenges facing AI technologies and their use in creative industries.

Face To Face Lecture 20 In person lecture series covering topics on the foundations and history of AI in digital creative practice, AI tools and techniques, lectures on the applied use of AI and ethical application of AI. A range of learning approaches and learning technologies will be employed to bring these topics to engage wider discussion.
Face To Face Tutorial 20 In person tutorial sessions that will engage individual and group activities exploring the skills required for ethical implementation of AI in creative practice.
Online Guided independent study 160 You will be provided with materials and resources to support ongoing independent study following up on topics explored during the taught periods. This is also opportunity for your own exploratory research on the topics to supplement the provided materials.

You will assess the role of AI technologies in digital creative practice related to this field, exploring their potential benefits and challenges. Evaluate ethical issues associated with AI integration, practitioner and industry concerns and outline ways to promote responsible AI implementation and innovation within your chosen creative industry.
Oral Presentation 40 2~3~4 Week 13 HOURS= 10 minute demo You will demonstrate the development of your skills in effectively utilising Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to complete a creative task common to your specific field. You will evaluate and reflect on the contribution of AI and the outputs it produced in relation to the creative task being completed. You will also highlight ethical issues that may have arisen though your use of AI. By successfully employing relevant AI technologies, you will showcase your ability to harness the potential of AI for enhancing productivity and innovation.
