Description of module content:

Graphic design is created by designers and art directors and experienced by the public in a wide range of forms. The creation of impactful visual communication, which informs, allows the user to experience, changes behaviour and improves lives is dependant on the skill of the designer to communicate using integrated forms of graphic design which can be applied to media, 3D form and space. You will explore the role of the graphic designer and other creatives in the conception and development of graphic design solutions for public information campaigns, wayfinding, environmental graphic design and exhibition with regard to the visual interpretation and integration of information, graphic elements and the end user experience. This will entail the examination of the structure, procedures, practices and standards of the visual communication industry and the creation of two, three and four dimensional media which addresses ethical and responsible design practice in a social context. You will engage in reflection and evaluation of your designs and art directed user experiences through testing and imaginative methods of client/user feedback.
