Description of module content:

In Advanced Studio Practice you will improve and augment on the work you conducted in the module Guided Studio Practice. The main difference in this module is that you will act more independently and are expected to be the driving force behind your work. This module straddles two trimesters, in trimester 1 you will conduct the research and investigation activities required to produce your work. You will present your work in progress at the end of trimester 1 to gain feedback from your peers. In trimester 2 you will work toward a significant practice based output. You will demonstrate the efficacy and quality of your work by submitting it for exhibition. This output is expected to be contributed to the School of Arts and Creative Industries degree show.

Face To Face Project Supervision 60 Over the course of trimesters 1 and 2 (12 weeks per trimester), you will be regularly supervised in the studio by a member of staff relevant to your practice. These sessions may take the form of field trips, discussions, tutorials, collaborative making sessions. Mode of study, timetabling and the nature of your project will be negotiated between you and your supervisor.
Online Guided independent study 540 Over the course of trimesters 1 and 2 (12 weeks per trimester), you will have time in the studio to develop your own practice and critical understanding. You will work in an autonomous manner in the pursuit of your final submission.

Learning Log 20 1~2~3~4~5 Week 13 HOURS= 15-30 pages You will create a learning log that will demonstrate your explorations over trimester 1. In the log you will demonstrate how you have worked toward the module learning outcomes.
Portfolio 30 1~2~3~4~5 Exam Period , WORDS= 20-50 pages This portfolio will be a complete documentation of your project and the process of realising it. The portfolio will include an evaluation report and documentary video.
Project - Practical 20 1~2~3~4~5 Exam Period HOURS= Negotiated This submission is a significant practice based output that will be included in the SACI degree show. The nature, format and size of the submission is to be negotiated with your supervisor.
