In Advanced Studio Practice you will improve and augment on the work you conducted in the module Guided Studio Practice. The main difference in this module is that you will act more independently and are expected to be the driving force behind your work. This module straddles two trimesters, in trimester 1 you will conduct the research and investigation activities required to produce your work. You will present your work in progress at the end of trimester 1 to gain feedback from your peers. In trimester 2 you will work toward a significant practice based output. You will demonstrate the efficacy and quality of your work by submitting it for exhibition. This output is expected to be contributed to the School of Arts and Creative Industries degree show.

Upon completion of this module you will be able to

LO1: Critically review, consolidate and extend knowledge, skills, practices and thinking in your chosen area of practice.

LO2: Demonstrate leadership and/or initiative and make an identifiable contribution to change and development and/or new thinking in your chosen area of practice.

LO3: Practice in ways which draw on critical reflection on your own and others’ roles and responsibilities.

LO4: Exercise substantial autonomy, initiative and leadership in the development and creation of a significant practice based output.

LO5: Communicate your work and its context to a range of audiences with different levels of knowledge/expertise.
