Description of module content:

Prior to the placement, you will be given guidance on how to prepare yourself for your industrial placement, e.g. CV writing, cover letter preparation etc. The support will be provided by School staff and by Student and Academic Services. A study pack will be provide by the School for support in keeping a logbook, report writing skills and presentation skills.

Ultimately the responsibility for finding a placement will be down to you. The School will provide support in the terms of advice of previous employers and give guidance as to suitable areas for consideration.

You will keep a daily logbook, recording your work experiences, regularly reflecting on the works completed. On return to the University you will write a major critical review of one project/area of your work/experience and disseminate the information via an oral presentation to your peer group.
