Description of module content:

This module aims to equip you with the necessary knowledge and tools to critically understand and appraise complex issues surrounding data governance and ethics of organisations. You will learn how organisations establish data procedures to potentially harness data power whilst adhering to data regulations and aligning with ethical principles in the wider society. Given the changing context of technological development and digital transformation, the module will also enable you to identify the potential implications of big data and artificial intelligence for data governance and ethics.This module is designed to accommodate the diverse needs of learners, including individuals from varied academic and professional backgrounds, part-time students, and working professionals. Tailored learning support ensures inclusivity and accessibility for all participants. By integrating innovative learning technologies such as Mentimeter and Moodle, the module delivers an engaging and flexible educational experience, enabling you to access resources and participate in activities seamlessly, both on-campus and online. The presentation will explain how this topic has been discussed in the literature.This assessment is designed to be flexible and offers choices to support various learning styles and preferences. The topic for the presentation will selected by you within a range of topics identified by the module leader. You will also have the possibility to choose between a live presentation or a recorded presentation to be shown in class. In either cases, you will be asked to submit a copy of the presentation online.
Report 60 1~2~3~4 Exam Period , WORDS= 3,000 words You will write a consulting report analysing relevant issues relating to data governance and ethics in an organisation of your choice. Your consulting report will be grounded in relevant theories and include actionable recommendations.
