In this module, you will explore the complexities of innovation ecosystems and how to effectively navigate, lead, and harness their potential within the context of digital transformation. This learning journey is designed to enhance your understanding of these ecosystems, focusing on their key components, dynamics, and the transformative power of digital technologies. You will explore the strategic, analytical, and leadership dimensions necessary to navigate, lead, and leverage these environments effectively. Online Guided independent study 170 Students will engage in self-guided exploration of complex innovation ecosystems, particularly within the framework of digital transformation. Independent learning is emphasised through critical evaluation and strategic application both individually and through group work.
Independent Learning Lecture 10 10 x one-hour lectures spread over 12 weeks to provide structured learning opportunities and theoretical grounding to support the module's independent learning objectives.
Face To Face Tutorial 20 10 x in-person tutorials delivering practical application of theory covered in lectures. These will serve to reinforce and clarify concepts, providing a space for collaborative discussion and application of the independent learning conducted by students.

Report 40 1~2 Week 8 , WORDS= 2,000 words You will work in groups with other students to analyse an innovation ecosystem. The task involves identifying key components, stakeholders, and dynamics of a chosen or assigned innovation ecosystem. The findings will be presented in a written report, emphasising the interdependencies and interactions within the ecosystem, and proposing strategies for optimising its effectiveness, particularly in the context of digital transformation. This component will assess your collaborative skills, analytical thinking, research and writing skills, and ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
Oral Assessment 40 3~4 Week 13 HOURS= 1 hour You will individually undertake a role-play exercise simulating a negotiation scenario within a digital ecosystem. You will assume a role as a stakeholder in a digital transformation context, such as a technology provider, a government regulator, or a business leader. The task is to negotiate with other stakeholders (played by either peers or instructors) to achieve specific objectives that align with their role’s interests and goals. This component evaluates your negotiation skills, your understanding of different stakeholder perspectives, and your ability to apply strategic thinking in a digital ecosystem context.
Essay 20 1~2~3~4 Exam Period , WORDS= 1,000 words You will write a reflective essay that encapsulates your learning experiences throughout the role play negotiation. The essay will discuss the insights gained from the process, specifically focusing on the understanding of innovation ecosystems in digital transformation. You are encouraged to reflect on the learning outcomes, how the assessments contributed to your understanding, and how the insights from the your learning experience can be applied in real-world scenarios. This essay assesses your ability to introspect, articulate your learning journey, and relate theoretical knowledge to practical applications.
