Description of module content:

During this module you will connect your academic development with your professional development. You will compare and contrast your professional engagements with the theoretical models you are learning through the programme. Whilst respecting client confidentiality you will assess how firms identify and manage risks with particular reference to technological risks either internally or externally (e.g. cybercrime).

Learning Outcomes for module:

Upon completion of this module you will be able to

LO1: Identify and critically analyse the relationship between management/risk theories and how your own work is operationalised.

LO2: Critically assess how client firms identify and manage risks generally and with particular reference to technology risk.

LO3: Critically reflect on your own experience of using a structured approach to professional reflective learning.

Independent Learning Seminar 2 Initial discussion of the aims of the module and how it is to be assessed, to allow for any questions to be raised and answered
Independent Learning Project Supervision 3 Contact with an assigned tutor to assist in developing the module assessment. This can be meetings online or contact via email or phone. Tutors are allocated by Week 3 and students are free to contact them from that point.
Online Guided independent study 195 The assessment brief and supporting materials on Moodle direct the student as to how to complete the assessment task. The actual study will be mainly reflective, or a critical assessment of a client. Students can start this from the point they are allocated a tutor in Week 3, until the assignment is due the following year.

Specifically, this asks you to reflect on your own role and how participation in the programme has helped to develop your self-reflection, and also a critical reflection on how clients frame their risk processes, building on the development of your critical reflective skills.
