Description of module content:

HRD as a growing field of research and practice. Theories and models of strategic HRD. Effective learning strategies. Key stages of the Systematic Training Cycle. Theoretical underpinnings of e-learning and their implications for HRD practice. Impact of HRD on activities relating to Organisational Learning, Knowledge Management, Management Development and Career Development.

Learning Outcomes for module:

Upon completion of this module you will be able to

LO1: Examine the concept of HRD as an emerging field of research and practice.

LO2: Critically appraise various theoretical models of Strategic HRD and apply them in appropriate ways.

LO3: Critically analyse the key activities of the Systematic Training Cycle.

LO4: Discuss the theories of e-learning and consider their implications for HRD practice.

LO5: Evaluate the impact of HRD on other organisational activities relating to Organisational Learning, Knowledge Management, Management Development and Career Development.
