Learning & Teaching methods including their alignment to LOsThe Learning, teaching and assessment approach has been designed and built around your engagement with core aspects of strategy, leadership and innovation. The teaching approach will combine both lecture format as well as case studies, experiential activities and audio-visual practical examples. All four learning objectives require the learners develop a detailed knowledge of the theory of leadership and strategy and to understand how leadership and strategy operate in practice through organisational examples.Embedding of employability/PDP/Scholarship SkillsThe assessment strategy on the module requires you to critically analyse key strategic, leadership and innovation theories and examine the relevance of such theories in contemporary organisations. Examination of the leader-follower and psychodynamic leadership approaches will provide an opportunity for you to reflect upon interpersonal relationships in the workplace. Assessment (formative or summative)You will be provided with opportunities for formative feedback and the module embeds both individual and group work components. You will participate in residential weekend workshops to develop your academic and practical skills. A 2000 word academic essay offers you the opportunity to study an aspect of leadership and innovation in depth, while the case study report (2000 words) offers you the opportunity to examine strategic decision-making in an organisational context. Research / teaching linkagesThe module reviews current and contemporary theories and leadership approaches through reference to leading research and thinking.
