Description of module content:

The title of this module includes two areas: Leadership and Strategy. Over the course of the module you will explore both of these areas in the context of Innovation. In the first half of the module you will examine the strategic management process, capabilities, approaches to leadership, and other key factors, which enable an organisation to achieve its strategy and gain a business advantage. In the second half of the module you will turn your attention to contemporary theories of leadership, which explain how leaders relate to their followers, how they inspire and motivate, and how they enable employees to achieve strategic goals within a complex and dynamic organisational context.

Independent Learning Practical classes and workshops 12 Live Academic Sessions (LAS) will be student-led, comprising of activities and discussion designed to develop your understanding of core theories and concepts, and how these can be applied in practice. Tutorials will provide you with an opportunity to discuss core debate with fellow students, ask questions, and receive feedback from tutors.
Online Guided independent study 188 Guided independent study includes a range of activities and tasks designed to help you to develop the in-depth knowledge and core academic skills needed to meet the module learning outcomes. Details of independent study tasks, including core readings, are provided on Moodle. In addition, independent study time will be used to complete the module assessments.

Essay 50 1~2~3~4 Week 13 , WORDS= 2000 words Assessment 2 requires you to:(1) Answer an essay question (1500 words) focused on current debates in leadership. The essay will require you to engage with key leadership theories and research.(2) Write a short reflection (500 words) that explores (a) how writing the essay has changed you perspective on the role of leaders and on the leader-follower relationship in contemporary organisations; and (b) how knowledge developed through writing the essay will inform or change your leadership practice.
