Description of module content:

This module will introduce you to the key drivers for effective change management within a sustainable health and social care context. The module addresses the core themes of leadership and change management, facilitating the consideration of innovative and practical solutions for challenges faced in delivering an effective, sustainable healthcare service. Topics will include: sustainable healthcare, organizational behaviour and culture, leadership and change management theory, implementing and managing change within healthcare services.

Learning Outcomes for module:

Upon completion of this module you will be able to

LO1: Critically discuss the changing healthcare context nationally and globally in relation to sustainable healthcare service delivery.

LO2: Critically reflect on how effective leaders foster and influence an innovative culture within sustainable healthcare systems.

LO3: Apply organisational behaviour theory to the healthcare context.

Online Guided independent study 140 The teaching and learning activities are designed to support and enhance your understanding of the theories of change as they are applied in different contexts and to explore change in the context of sustainable healthcare quality improvement designed to promote health and reduce health inequalities.
Face To Face Lecture 2 Introductory Presentation. Lecturer–led presentation providing an overview of the module content and assessment criteria .
Face To Face GROUPIND_STUDY 16 The introduction of theories & case studies will allow for exploration of leadership theories in contextualised scenarios and group discussions to facilitate engagement and understanding to promote critical analysis and support independent thinking and professional development.
Face To Face Tutorial 42 Tutorials which include the use of simulated learning. Students will be encouraged to work in groups, provide peer feedback and present findings to the larger group.
