Learning, Teaching and Assessment (LTA) Approach: |
Face to face format using lectures and practical instruction supplemented with VLE resources detailing directed and reflective study. Lectures will be face to face and cover sound theory, technology, development and distribution. The lecturer led practical sessions will be using instruction materials that the student is required to complete weekly. By completing the successive tasks students will extend the knowledge that they gained from the published texts and lectures, whilst having access to lecturer support. Some of this time will also be set aside for monitoring progress on the coursework. Students will be encouraged to bring in their coursework each week to discuss their progress with their lecturer. The remaining time will be devoted to directed study, where a comprehensive list of references will be supplied in order to illustrate advanced practice, these will incorporate videos, books and websites, which will be updated regularly (all LOs).
Formative feedback will be provided to each student individually during the first week of the module, in respect of the chosen focus for the summative assessment (see below). Feedback will be provided on the student’s proposal, no later than by week 2. Feedback will be posted in Moodle, or 1:1, either face to face or Skype. As required, additional feedback will be offered by the module leader through Moodle fora, email, Skype, telephone, and face to face. The proposal and subsequent formative feedback to the student on their proposal links directly to the summative assessment described below.
The coursework (all LOs) will be practical and involve the creation of an video project in order to confirm that the student has successfully achieved all of the learning outcomes. Progress will be monitored throughout so that appropriate feedback can be provided during the development process. The submission replicates a format common to video production.
