Assessment |
Type of Assessment | Weighting % | LOs covered | Week due | Length in Hours/Words | Description |
Project - Practical | 100 | 1~2~3~4 | Week 13 | HOURS= 160hours | Students will create a 3-minute soundtrack for a publicly released piece of media, which may include film, tv, video games or similar. Students will replace all the existing audio with a new soundtrack, as well as create a full set of audio assets so that a complete version of the media can be created. This must be in cohesive aesthetic/style/theme that is noticeably different to the original. Sounds can be designed in any manner and by any means, however, if you choose linear media (film or TV), you must edit and mix the final audio using Pro Tools. Alternatively, if you choose a video game, you must edit and mix the final audio using Reaper. You will create a set comprehensive technical notes that includes an overview of both the original aesthetic/style/theme and the new one you chose. You will also submit a 750-word listeners’ evaluation report, and a self-evaluation form. The subject matter of this coursework is entirely open to interpretation so long as it meets the technical requirements. |
