Blended format using lectures and tutorial sessions supplemented with Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) resources detailing directed study. Lectures will cover theory, with examples of current practice. Students will be required to present their own coursework during the tutorial sessions and to critique the work of others. The remaining time will be devoted to directed study, where a comprehensive list of references will be supplied in order to illustrate advanced practice, these incorporate videos, books, papers and websites that are updated regularly (LOs 1-4).
The lecturer led tutorial sessions will act as formative assessment that addresses LOs 1-4.
The coursework involves summative assessment with the creation of a sound design for either an animation or a film in order to confirm that the student has successfully achieved LOs 1-3. LO4 is assessed through student contributions during tutorial sessions.
