Description of module content:

The Intellectual Property Law module shall cover the following topics: i) Objectives of IP; ii) Copyright (part I); iii) Copyright (part II); iv) Industrial Design; v) Patents (part I); vi) Patents (part II); vii) Trade Marks (part I); viii) Trade Marks (part II); ix) IP Law Remedies.

Learning Outcomes for module:

Upon completion of this module you will be able to

LO1: Critically examine and analyse the legal provisions and underlying rationale of Intellectual Property law.

LO2: Demonstrate an understanding of the main challenges facing aspects of Intellectual Property law.

LO3: Demonstrate an ability to apply the substantive law provisions to a range of complex legal problems.

LO4: Analyse and understand information from both primary and secondary legal sources.
