Face To Face | Project Supervision | 1 | You will create an electronic discussion page documenting your research progress, which the module leader will review to guide your research. The final electronic dossier, submitted before your oral assessment in Week 13, will summarise your research, including key findings and supporting materials. During supervision sessions, you will discuss your progress and receive feedback to refine your research and prepare for the final dossier. |
Online | Guided independent study | 36 | Each week, you will engage in independent study, dedicating a minimum of three hours before class. Initially, readings will focus on research methods, methodologies, and published scholarship relevant to film practice. As the trimester progresses, you will engage with literature specific to your chosen research project and your colleagues' work. This will facilitate the development of your research ideas and prepare you for seminar discussions. |
Face To Face | Seminar | 39 | Each week you will participate in a three hour seminar discussion. After an introduction in week 1, we will examine existing research into film practice to have a common body of examples to analyse. Near the middle of the trimester, you will present your research in progress on a few occasions, and discuss your colleagues' research. These discussions provide not only formative feedback on your research progress, but also frequent opportunities for you to rehearse discussing your research. |
