Learning & teaching methods including their alignment to LOs;The reduced contact time reflects the requirement for students to work more independently at this level. Feedback is given informally at each class and after submission of the formative tasks in the portfolio. Embedding of employability/PDP/scholarship skills; Communication skills are enhanced by learning a second language; the ability to synthesise and discuss a number of authentic documents; time management and self-direction.Assessment (formative and summative); Formative assessment takes the form of practice report writing. Summative assessment takes place in week 13 (submission of the portfolio) and 14/15 (exam).Research/ teaching linkages; The module content and delivery is based on current research and best practice in language teaching and applied linguistics.Supporting equality and diversity;Teaching materials are available on WebCT and on the languages server as well as in hard copy.
