LO1: Explore the pathophysiology of medical complications which may affect childbearing women and their
LO2: Explore the principles of care using a problem solving approach when supporting women and babies
with complications.
LO3: Discuss the role of the midwife in the provision of care for women and neonate when complications
LO4 Justify decisions made when referring women or neonates to other health or social care professionals
as required.
