Description of module content:

This module focusses on the neonate within a high dependency neonatal care setting. The module aims to support you to develop your knowledge and understanding of neonates as they transition to extra uterine life, together with the needs of their families and carers. The content will provide a systems-based approach to normal physiology and pathophysiology relevant to the neonate requiring high dependency care. You will critically engage with the global evidence base which guides the therapeutic options for these infants. The principles of family integrated care, the practice of neonatal neuro developmental supportive care and importance of multidisciplinary working will be integrated into the outlined management. The concepts of compassionate leadership and promoting equality, diversity and inclusion will underpin your professional development.
