Examples of Equivalent Learning: Students must be a Registered Nurse, Midwife or Medical Practitioner and be covered by a Professional Indemnity Arrangement.
Additionally, evidence of completion of Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health E-learning modules and E-knowledge Assessment or equivalent SRH and GUM theory modules elsewhere (20 Credit Theory Modules) within the last 5 years.

Description of module content:

Your learning will take place in a SRH placement under the guidance of experienced SRH practitioners. A preliminary study half day will introduce you to taking SRH histories; introduce the clinical competencies to be gained and the guidance documents used in SRH practice. You will maintain a record of your clinical activity throughout your placement which will contribute to their module assessment.

Learning Outcomes for module:

Upon completion of this module you will be able to:
LO 1. Demonstrate the ability to take a comprehensive SRH history in a non-judgemental manner
LO 2. Apply knowledge of evidence-based guidelines in delivering care to SRH clients
LO 3. Critically reflect on the needs of a range of clients in a SRH setting
LO 4. Formulate and document a plan of care for supporting clients with their choice of contraception/ or treatment for STI.
