Description of module content:

This module reflects some of the changes which have taken place in child protection work over the years. Time is allocated to allow you to explore children's needs prior to considering the challenges associated with undertaking a risk assessment. The centrality of effective inter-agency working in child protection forms a key element of the module and you will have the opportunity to scrutinise professional roles and responsibilities. Key stages in child protection procedures are "brought to life" through use of an unfolding scenario and a recorded child protection case conference, both of which highlight a number of professional dilemmas. You will explore both short and long term consequences of abuse while a final section considers evaluation of practice in terms o
