During this module, you will have the opportunity to explore a series of core topics, broadly encompassing the following; advanced skills of holistic patient assessment across the life course (as appropriate), consultation, clinical decision making with reference to evidenced based practice.

You will be guided through the key principles of history taking and examination, adopting a body systems approach, whilst considering the needs of diverse population groups. In addition, you will explore common illness and/or disease presentations including treatments and diagnostics, again considering the needs of diverse population groups.

LO1: Demonstrate advanced knowledge, skills and expertise in completing a patient assessment considering the needs of diverse population groups where appropriate.
LO2: Critically analyse and interpret patient history and clinical examination findings to develop a working and differential diagnosis.
LO3: Interpret clinical findings and diagnostic information to demonstrate critical thinking and decision making skills.
LO4: Appraise relevant contemporary evidence and research to inform clinical decision making.
LO5: Critically reflect on the development of clinical competence and new knowledge gained through practice experience.
