Description of module content:

Roles and responsibilities of students and their supervisor: the Dissertation Module Handbook contains information on getting started; literature searching and critique; how to present and construct a dissertation thesis; time-management and reflection on process and progress.

In this module you will learn how to conduct a literature review and critique a topic of your choice which is relevant to your degree outcome. The topic you choose is usually identified from the Research Protocol you have completed in the compulsory Research Approaches in Health and Social Care Module completed prior to commencing this module. In the process you will also learn how to develop a search strategy for conducting an effective literature review and critique and to write about the implications of what you find for future theory and practice.
