Communication and interpersonal behaviour, healthcare numeracy, efficient moving and handling of patients/clients, professional practice and regulation, basic life support, personal care, administration of medicines, assessment and observations of patients/clients, introduction to nutrition and introduction to prevention, control of healthcare acquired infection and issues related to nursing practice.

LO1: Define the process of communication and develop an awareness of interpersonal skills.
LO2: Develop knowledge and skills related to clinical nursing practice in a variety of healthcare settings.
LO3: Recognise the importance of evidence based practice in nursing care
LO4: Discuss legislation, professional conduct and accountability in nursing practice
LO5: Gain an appreciation of participating in patient/client care within a multidisciplinary team.
