Description of module content:

This module will build on your knowledge and understanding in relation to professional values and behaviours including accountability and the Duty of Candour (Nursing Midwifery Council 2015). The application of nursing theories and models to practice will be explored. Legislation, policy and ethical frameworks relating to health and social care including strategies relating to dementia, learning disability and safeguarding/protection will support your wider awareness of the policy perspectives of health and social care. You will have the opportunity to extend your knowledge and application of communication and compassionate care strategies to meet individual needs.

LO 1: Outline communication and compassionate care strategies to enhance health and social care delivery.
LO 2: Reflect on professional behaviours observed in practice and relate this to the principles of effective communication.
