Description of module content:

Preparation for and attendance at initial 10 weeks of clinical practice; development of numeracy skills.
Learning Outcomes for module:

LO1: Practice in accordance with The Code: Professional Standards of Practice and Behaviour (Nursing Midwifery Council 2015) for nurses and midwives to develop core professional values of honesty, integrity and without discrimination.
LO2: Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills which are evidence based, safe, effective, compassionate and respectful.
LO3: Participate in a range of essential nursing skills to meet the physical and mental health needs of individuals, of all ages under the supervision of a health and/or social care professional.
LO4: Appreciate the role of the nurse working in collaboration with other fields of practice and disciplines to promote a culture of safety and high quality of care.
LO5: Develop competence in numeracy skills related to nursing practice.
