Description of module content:

In this module, you will learn about anatomical and physiological terminology, the main body systems and human development from cellular to systems level, relevant to your role as a nurse. You will learn about key physiological processes and how the body maintains its equilibrium. You will also be introduced to basic pharmacological principles as a foundation for how drugs work in the body.

Learning Outcomes for module:

LO1: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of anatomical and physiological terminology.
LO2: Recall the structure of the human body and basic processes of human physiology.
LO3: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of physiological principles – homeostasis, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and genetic principles within cell division.
LO4: Develop information technology skills to support module learning and assessment.
