Description of module content:

This module will build on your knowledge and understanding in relation to inter-professional healthcare. Core qualities and attributes of effective inter-professional practice will be explored including collaboration and team working, effective communication and compassionate care, professional attributes and behaviours. Enhanced communication theory and skills will be explored to include emotional touch points, SENSES (Nolan et al 2006) framework and challenging conversations. By reviewing enquiries into healthcare practice you will identify opportunities for co-production through enhanced compassionate communication and interagency working that underpin evidence base person-centred, compassionate approaches to care and support health and well-being. Inter-professional learning and educational opportunities will be built upon and utilised in student led activities in the programme of study.

Upon completion of this module you will be able to
LO 1: Review personal and professional values underpinning person-centred, compassionate care.
LO 2: Develop an insight into the individual, team and organisational approaches to the contribution of person-centred, compassionate care.
LO 3: Explore the approaches used in practice to listen and respond to feedback from individuals, relatives, carers and the inter-professional team.
LO 4: Consider the importance of working co-productively with individuals and families to support health and well-being.
