Description of module content:

This module will support you to develop knowledge, understanding, skills and abilities to support learners in clinical practice (student learners and new team members). This includes exploration of learning theories and styles. You will develop skills in assessment of learning and teaching in the clinical setting. You will develop an understanding of the leadership and advocacy skills required to create an appropriate learning environment and manage learning effectively.

Learning Outcomes for module:

Upon completion of this module you will be able to

LO1: Critically evaluate best available evidence in learning theory and assessment practice to support the clinical learning environment .

LO2: Apply knowledge of evidence based learning, teaching and assessment strategies that can be employed to support a range of learners in clinical practice.

LO3: Through the use of SWOT analysis, demonstrate knowledge and skills to ensure that the learning environment is supportive and effective for individual learners.

LO4: Utilise a recognized model of reflection to critically appraise your role in supporting and managing a learner to meet required professional standards and outcomes.

Independent Learning Guided independent study 176 Guided independent study will involve working through the four moodle workbooks and undertaking learning activities. Completing a learning log during the period of this module will contribute to the summative assessment.
Independent Learning Tutorial 4 Online tutorial will be available to you and cover topics such as academic skills and library induction, searching for evidence. There will also be sessions to support your assessment preparation.
Face To Face Lecture 8 This in person lecture will present module content and enable greater understanding about the assessment activities.
