Description of module content:

This module will introduce students to the key drivers for effective leadership within the healthcare service. Students will explore the characteristics and qualities associated with leadership, change management and quality improvement. They will select a range of strategies and methods for managing change and quality improvement with the aim of improving the quality and delivery of your service. Topics covered will include: leadership theory, clinical governance and quality improvement, change management strategies, partnership working and leading teams through change.

Learning Outcomes for module:

Upon completion of this module you will be able to

LO1: Critically explore the changing healthcare context nationally in Singapore and globally in relation to healthcare delivery.

LO2: Demonstrate an understanding of behaviours and roles associated with effective leadership styles to facilitate change in practice.

LO3: Critically evaluate different types of evidence that inform an understanding of leadership, change management and service improvement.

LO4: Apply a change management strategy that leads to an improvement in the quality of care.
