Description of module content:

This is a blended module designed to:
1. Prepare students to undertake a level 11 40 credit dissertation in psychology.
2. Develop skills in research proposal writing.
3. Develop an in depth awareness of ethical issues in psychological research.
4. Develop skills in project management.
This module will have a blended delivery with content focussed on research proposal construction, developing ethics applications, and project management techniques. Students are expected to make and demonstrate progress every week to ensure that they are prepared to begin their psychology project by the end of the trimester. Each of the three topic areas has the opportunity for formative feedback from both peers and the module leader. Formative feedback activities will be closely aligned to the three learning outcomes.

Learning Outcomes for module:

LO1: Critically engage in literature with regard to designing a research project..

LO2: Demonstrate full awareness of the ethical issues surrounding psychological research as governed by ENU and the British Psychological Society.

LO3: Apply skills of time planning and negotiation in the planning of your research.
