Student Activity (Notional Equivalent Study Hours (NESH)) |
Mode of activity | Learning & Teaching Activity | NESH (Study Hours) | NESH Description |
Face To Face | Lecture | 8 | Lectures will be delivered in person. Lecture materials will be made available in advance via Moodle. These will consist of detailed PowerPoint presentations and may also include an activity to be undertaken prior to class. You will always be given sufficient notice of any work to be completed before lectures. |
Face To Face | Seminar | 8 | Seminars will be lecturer-facilitated but will allow you to explore and apply knowledge introduced during the lectures to consolidate your learning and help you work towards successful completion of the group projects. Seminar discussions will be student-led and happen within your small preassigned project group, typically comprising 5-6 students. |
Face To Face | Tutorial | 4 | Group tutorials will be offered (in your project preassigned groups) and focussed on discussing the summative presentation assessments. The nature of the tutorials will thus allow for peer and tutor formative feedback. This is intended to support all students in the tutorial to learn from each other. |
Face To Face | GROUPSCHEDULED | 4 | In your preassigned student groups you will present your completed projects to the tutor and class. In these sessions you will work together to share your work and also observe the work of your peers. |
Online | Guided independent study | 176 | Throughout the trimester, you are expected to structure in time to reflect upon the learning you have undertaken in your scheduled sessions and to complete research to help prepare and plan for the assessment tasks. You are encouraged to read more widely around the topics you are studying. You will also be expected to complete independent tasks assigned to you through conversation and negotiation with your group members to help realise the two projects for summative assessment. |
