Description of module content:

This module provides the opportunity for you to collaborate with students from different disciplines. You will work in multidisciplinary teams throughout the module to address the requirements of two short project briefs. One will have a purely creative focus, while the other will see you apply your creative skills towards completion of a project that has a community and/or societal theme. The latter is likely to involve an industry partner, giving you the opportunity to fulfil a project that has real world outcomes and expectations. You will explore and develop your skills in relation to project management, team working, negotiation, time management, collective and individual decision making, and communication. Through the successful completion of two projects, you will also consider the broader potential of multidisciplinary collaboration. You will reflect on the experience of learning from, working with and sharing your subject discipline-specific skills with students from other creative disciplines. Through this reflection, and in conjunction with carrying out wider research, you will consider the implications of multidisciplinary work and any perceived positive impact on your creative practice and/or thinking. While it is expected that you will deploy your subject discipline-specific skills within this module, you will also be expected to examine and apply your wider skill sets to help your group realise the short project outcomes.
