Description of module content:

In this module you will develop a portfolio of key research and study skills required for a sport-related programme of study. This will help you to give you the platform of knowledge and skills on which to develop and progress effectively through a higher education programme. Existing skills will be enhanced and new research skills will be learned to enable you to confidently undertake assessments on other modules and at higher levels within your programme of study. It is also intended that this module will help prepare you for the practicalities of the modern football practitioner.

Learning Outcomes for module:

LO1: Apply knowledge and skills to identify, search, and retrieve relevant academic sports literature
LO2: Present and evaluate arguments in an academic manner
LO3: Use a range of forms of communication effectively whether working alone or as part of a team
LO4: Demonstrate familiarity with research language associated with the research process (e.g. data collection techniques, interpretation).
LO5: Demonstrate ability to work and learn in an IT environment with a range of software packages
