Description of module content:

On this module you will develop an understanding of the role of the performance analyst and an appreciation of what performance is, what factors can be measured and how to develop a valid and reliable analysis system for football performance. Over the course of the module you will explore how to identify and develop key performance indicators with operational definitions to analyse critical factors that impact upon team performance. In addition, you will learn how to undertake notational analysis and consider during and post-match individual and team performance analysis with a view to evaluating and presenting the data in the most coherent and effective way.

Learning Outcomes for module:

Upon completion of this module you will be able to

LO1: Define the role and the function of the performance analyst in football.

LO2: Evaluate how analysis systems are being utilised to analyse performance in football.

LO3: Develop valid and reliable key performance indicators with operational definitions for analysing football performance.

LO4: Apply, evaluate and present key performance indicators to individual and team analysis.
