Description of module content:

This module will be a continuation of Introduction to Performance Analysis and Performance Analysis in Football. It will provide you with an opportunity to develop an advanced understanding and knowledge of performance analysis in relation to shape, style and phases of play within match analysis. The module will also introduce you to data analysis techniques, allowing you to sort, manage, interpret and present event and physical data within football.

Learning Outcomes for module:

Upon completion of this module you will be able to

LO1: Sort, manage and interpret data sets associated with event and physical football performance data

LO2: Critically review and report physical and event data in appropriate formats

LO3: Critically identify specific areas for tactical performance enhancement based on performance analysis data.

LO4: Design evidence based recommendations to enhance the teams’ tactical performance context.

Face To Face Lecture 24 Lectures will be pre-recorded and uploaded weekly on the VLE at least 5 days prior to the seminar to allow you to access at a time most suitable for you. The lecture recording will include subtitles/close-captioning.
Face To Face Tutorial 10 LTA Description - A group tutorial will be offered focused on discussing the formative assessment task and will involve a peer feedback session. This is intended to support all students in the tutorial to learn from each other fostering an assessment for learning approach.
Online Guided independent study 166 Throughout the trimester, you are expected to structure in time to reflect upon the learning you have undertaken in your scheduled sessions and to complete your essential reading. You are encouraged to read more widely around the topics you are studying and engage in Moodle activities and resources. You will need to ensure that you have sufficient time to prepare and plan for your assessment tasks.

Laboratory report 60 1~2 Week 8 , WORDS= 1500 words Based on your plan presented in week 4 you will be asked to produce a 1500 word report in week 8. You will be asked to sort, manage, interpret and present the findings from an event or physical data set. This data set will be provided to you for analysis and interpretation.
Oral Presentation 40 3~4 Week 12 HOURS= 20 minutes Component 2 will require you to undertake a 20 minute oral presentation and question and answer session. The presentation will be based on the analysis of 3 football matches. You will be asked to analyse trends associated with shape, style and phases of play. The objective of the presentation would be to present your findings and recommendations to the coaching team.
