Description of module content:

While working in an area relevant to your studies, you will have the opportunity to develop professional networks and successfully integrate your academic knowledge with professional practice. Through engaging in a work placement, you will explore current concepts, debates, policies, initiatives and funding issues related to your discipline. You are expected to exercise critical thinking, autonomy and initiatives in terms of your practice and learning, and develop and demonstrate a wide range of personal and professional skills. You will also focus on self-assessment, develop your own learning outcoThere are three ways in which you can engagmes and engage in reflective practice to enhance your professional confidence and employability.e with this module. You should select one approach. a) Edinburgh Napier University has sourced a number of work placements relevant to the your programme of study. These placements are developed and processed via the Student Futures Team and will be available via a matching or application process. b) You may already be working or volunteering in a role relevant to your degree and you may wish to use your ongoing employment (or volunteering) to complete the assessments for this module. c) You may want to pursue a new employment or volunteering opportunity. The programme staff, in conjunction with the Student Futures Team will support you in pursuing this.
