Description of module content:

This module is intended to provide learning opportunities similar to those that students would get out on placement. This includes gaining experience of
• Project management
• Teamwork
• Technical documentation
• Client communications
• Presentations
Teams of four or five undertake a project, typically for a real client. A list of available projects is provided before the module begins and students are encouraged to form teams in advance and to bid for the projects that they are most interested in. The client has the final choice of which team will be awarded a project.
A short series of lectures at the start of the module trimester introduces some fundamental topics and to clarify the working arrangements. One member of each team is designated the project manager. Project managers meet with a tutor weekly in order to discuss issues either arising from the practical work of the project teams, or which are relevant to the stage of development of the projects.
