Description of module content:

During 3 Trimesters, this module allows students to develop specialist computing skills in your workplace, by applying them to workplace projects for your programme of study.You will negotiate, with your line manager and a mentor, a learning agreement which will identify 4-6 specific objectives in no more than 500 words. The objectives you identify, once agreed, will form the basis of a significant piece of work which will be based on a live workplace issue. This module is designed to develop critical reflective practice, specialist computing skills, and act as a focus for your continuous professional development. Advanced reflective practice – using different models and frameworks to maximise both personal and team performance with career development through mentoring and subject specific skills development. The module assessment consists of Learning Agreement, Report (5000 words) and Logbook (5000 words).You will be assessed on your progress on these learning objectives in your final report and reflective log and so it is important that they are challenging, demonstrate your professional practice and are achievable within the current academic year.

Independent Learning Project Supervision 6 During the 3 trimesters there will be at least (3 x 1 hour mentoring visits) to the company by experienced practitioners, an academic tutor to set up the learning agreement normally with 4-6 objectives, to monitor progress & provide Final Report formative feedback in meeting the individual Learning Objectives. The agreed objectives in line with projects undertaken within the students workplace and programme specific domain encouraging continued professional development and reflective framework.
Online Guided independent study 594 Guided independent study - To meet the objectives you identify, once agreed, will form the basis of a significant piece of work which will be based on a live workplace issue. Duties are disparate developing critical reflective practice, specialist computing skills, and act as a focus for your continuous professional development. Reflective Log 30 4~5 Week 13 , WORDS= 5000 words Reflective LogSubmission due in week 13 of Trimester 3, which is week 43.Guided independent study. Logbook (5000) words.Your reflective log may take several different forms. You may choose to write a journal, blog or create a video diary. It should include evidence of higher levels of critical reflection and be maintained on a regular basis during the academic year. The assessment criteria for this coursework assignment are: regularity (of log entry keeping), theory (models of reflection and to inform professional practice), learning (evidence and development), reflection (critical reflection of practice), problem solving (based on critical reflection) and presentation (of the reflective log). They all carry equal weight.
