Description of module content:

This module introduces you to the core concepts and practices of risk management in projects and aims to help you build the skills needed to manage risks effectively. You will learn why it is important to plan for risks before they happen, especially at the strategic level when making big decisions. The course will cover key ideas in risk management, such as how to identify, assess, monitor, and control risks in a project. By understanding these concepts, you will improve your ability to think critically and analytically about projects. You will also learn how to apply both theory and practical tools to evaluate why some projects succeed and others fail, using techniques like qualitative and quantitative risk analysis. Through case studies and practical exercises, you will explore how to reduce risks and make decisions that support your project’s success. Additionally, you will learn how to make sure your organisation meets important standards like quality, social responsibility, and ethical practices.
