Description of module content:

This module aims to prepare you in delivering strategic change and transformation through the management of projects in organisations working in the Global Logistics Sector (GLS). It will develop your understanding of the stages, tools and techniques required for project initiation, planning, execution, control and termination. Using a variety of teaching methods, you will understand how to effectively plan and execute a project, whilst considering the wider context of the GLS in which the project operates. The module will enable you to evaluate Project Management methodologies and their implementation in organisational settings of GLS. You will have a greater understanding of how to manage change and the key levers which support the successful implementation of change projects. It is increasingly important for professionals to lead and support both the diagnosis and implementation of organisational change projects in the complex and dynamic supply chain environment. This module is also focused upon helping you to understand the complex nature of change, the different strategies that can be employed to manage it, the issues involved in the implementation of organisational change can face, and the key levers and mechanisms that can be used to both implement change successfully and to maintain change over the longer term. The module begins with consideration of the nature of the different types of organisational change which take place and the change models available to support both the diagnosis and management of change.
