Description of module content:

This proposal is for the development of a new Research Methods/Skills module that will provide you with an alternative 20 credit module to the existing SOE11131: Research Methods. This would be taught during a your second trimester and will develop skills and knowledge in: literature reviewing, secondary data gathering and analysis, approaches to personal reflection, business/research ethics, use of artificial intelligence, sustainability, equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), etc.

Learning Outcomes for module:

Upon completion of this module you will be able to

LO1: Evaluate different approaches to gathering data and understand the role of literature searching using academic and applied databases.

LO2: Synthesise module learning on business management issues with the aim of developing an holistic understanding of the concepts of Sustainability and EDI in the contemporary workplace.

LO3: Reflect on a range of approaches to the ethical use of AI and evaluate it’s impact on data analysis and visualisation.

LO4: Critically apply theories of reflection as a means directing personal and professional development.

LO5: Synthesise the outputs from this module as a foundation to the Capstone Project.

Face To Face Lecture 24 You will attend a series of 2 hour lectures delivered on a weekly basis.

Essay 50 1~2 Week 8 , WORDS= 2000 words You will be introduced to an organisational issue concerning Sustainability and/or EDI. The module assessment will be focused on addressing the particular Sustainability and/or EDI issue and require students to submit a 2000-word essay that address the issue of Sustainability and EDI.
Report 50 3~4~5 Exam Period , WORDS= 2000 You will be required to create a 2000-word Terms of Reference in preparation for subsequent stage of your journey. This will also include a statement concerning the ethical use of AI.
